RV living – how good is this way of living?

To enjoy the RV life is a dream that many wish to have but only a few can actually enjoy. It takes a lot more than just mental preparation and courage to go out to live a full-time RV life. It is a huge adjustment that one needs to cope with and can really transform the way of life. But when one gets the calling from the roads, there is hardly any stopping.
RV life asks for cutting out the monotony of life from the forty plus work hours per week only to earn more money to do kinds of stuff that actually do not matter. There are reasons that people choose the monotonous way of living – it is normal, secured and totally predictable. But once one decides on breaking free, RV life is the option for them.

Full Time RVing – the truths in the myths

The life of a full-time RVer is not wrapped in silk. Nor is it dipped in burning coal. While there are good times that RVers really look forward to enjoying, there are the downsides as well. You can expect and anticipate some things while you may be played wrong in other cases.
If you are married then you must know the difficulties that your regular jobs bring to you. You have no time for your spouse except to discuss issues of home and health. There is no freedom and the cubicle is your jail. By RV living, you can break free from the jail and enjoy all the freedom one can wish. What can be more interesting than carrying your entire home with you wherever and whenever you go? Full-time RV life brings to you your own schedule that you can follow as you wish.
The downside of this way of living is the uncertainty involved in each and every corner of the path. When you have no idea where to go next and how the site will be, there are things that can affect your living. If you are moving, then you do not know if you can adjust to the site or even if you can secure a spot in the site. You have no idea about where you can get food and water or how to get it. In short, everything is a mystery. Above all, the RV may suffer issues such as a breakdown of the tongue jack or the fridge that can bring in additional discomforts.

Dealing with failed expectations

Most new RVers expect this way of living to be easy and lack a realistic vision of the actual life. Life becomes hard when you lack assurance around every turn. Some of the most common issues that one may face include:

  • Going out of the home and giving up stuff is a big deal in itself
  • The emotions attached to friends and family can be a great pull back in hard times
  • You will be no one for you will lose your identity
  • Lack of privacy and challenges to intimacy (If you are married)
  • Coping up with the available physical space
  • Finding water
  • Maintaining the temperature within the RV
  • Finding sufficient data about campsites
No matter how prepared you may be to face the traveling lifestyle in an RV, these are some of the most common issues that will be more complex than you can anticipate. But once you set the sails out and promise to beat all the negatives, there is nothing better than this way of living.
